The Women’s Mid-Week Alpine Clinic is designed for women and taught by women using positive attitude, tactics and techniques to help you achieve your skiing goals. This eight-week program meets for 2-hour sessions on Thursday mornings.

Join us for a full day of skiing and fun while being coached by some of Mad River Glen’s most experienced female coaches. Our women’s programs are taught in a supportive and encouraging environment so that students can build confidence, overcome fears and learn new tactics and techniques. Coaches use a student-centered approach, designing the day around your skiing goals. Whether you are looking to challenge yourself off-piste or wanting to feel more confident in your abilities, we’ve got you covered!

Dates: Saturdays – January 3, January 31 & February 28

Time: 9:30 am until 3:00 pm

What makes an owl the perfect nocturnal predator? Find out Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at 5pm on the 3rd floor in the Basebox at Mad River Glen! Join Stark Mountain Foundation and the Vermont Museum of Natural History for an engaging birds of prey program and the chance to meet live owls up close, handle artifacts, and participate in interactive demonstrations! You’ll learn about the “raptor night shift,” diving into the unique adaptations of owls, and learn about their specialized feathers, hearing, and hunting techniques that give them a supreme advantage after dark. The free family, friendly presentation will feature an exploration of various owl species native to the Northeast. Perfect for nature lovers and curious minds of all ages!

This event is free and pre-registration is appreciated (not required). Donations to Stark Mountain Foundation are encouraged to support educational programs in the future!

Mad River Glen, the fertile crescent of big mountain skiing in New England is proud to be hosting a two-day IFSA Junior 3* series event. Come test your mettle on the east coast’s most challenging terrain. This event is open to skiers age 12-14 and 15-18 with an active 2026 IFSA membership. The competition is named in honor of Ryan Hawks and the Flyin’ Ryan Foundation.

Age Categories:
12-14 Female & Male Ski
15-18 Female & Male Ski

Event Information:

The event is limited to 100 competitors. The top finishers from Friday will qualify for Saturday’s final. Scores from both days will be calculated to determine the overall winners. Competitors must properly wear their bib, helmet and back protector in order to compete. We will run in start order as best we can within age/gender categories, late arrivals will be sent so long as we have not moved on to another age/gender. On finals day we will run in reverse order based on finishes from day one. Bibs will be collected in the finish area both days. Start lists, venue maps and results will all be made available via Stack Team App and LiveHeats in a timely manner. Pre-purchased competitor & spectator tickets will be distributed at check-in/bib pick-up on Friday. Vouchers will be distributed at check-in and must be redeemed at the ticket window. 1 competitor voucher/2 spectator vouchers will be issued to each visiting athlete. Competitors (and their support crew) who make the cut to Saturday’s finals will be given vouchers at check-in/bib pick-up to purchase tickets on Saturday. There will be no early distribution of tickets or bibs. Ticket vouchers will need to be redeemed for active tickets at the ticket booth on Saturday before loading the chairlift. Formerly known as the Graybeard’s Clinic, this program is re-designed for men of all ages who are intermediate to advanced skiers. The program’s focus will be on learning how to fully enjoy the Mad River Glen skiing experience by deepening fundamental skills and then applying them to the mountain’s legendary terrain. Participants will learn to ski groomers, bumps and trees better and with more confidence. Participants are placed in groups with skiers of similar ability and pace.

An event only to be found here on the slopes of Mad River Glen, the Rockefeller Challenge is an annual test of fearlessness and speed. Starting on the Practice Slope, competitors try to carry their speed down a designated race lane, through the base area and up the Rockefeller trail. Like the sport of ski jumping where the skier who goes the farthest wins, the person to makes it the furthest up the Rockefeller trail, is victorious and crowned a racing titan. Proceeds to benefit MRG Ski Club.

Field Limit: 100 competitors, all ages

Athlete Lift: Tentatively 4:20 pm

Event Begins: 4:30 pm

Other: Rockefeller and Racing Triple Crown shirts will be available for purchase at bib pickup on the day of the event. Clothing is required, no added weights, speedsuits, lycra or gravity enhancing devices!

The MRG Racing Triple Crown combines three celebrated legacy events and crowns an overall category champions!

1. 1. The storied Kandahar is MRG’s modern version of a full mountain ski race. It rewards those who can ski gates as well as terrain and conditions on the trail.
   2. The Dash For Cash is a new event that will pit racers head to head on a dual panel course with pro jump.
   3. The Rockefeller Challenge is a test of fearlessness and speed where competitors tuck straight downhill and glide uphill to find the skier who goes the furthest.

Combine and register for all three events and save!

A valid lift ticket or season pass is required. Lift ticket not included in the entry fee.

You must complete a registration for each family member who will be racing. Please log in below (if you are already in MRG’s system) or create a new account for each racer.

Steven Yardley is a folk rock troubadour, and bluesman that howls with a harmonica and a six-string. Yardley has spent years honing his craft on the guitar: slide, alternate tunings, flatpicking and fingerpicking. He traces the rock n’ roll songbook from the Mississippi Delta, Highway 61, Appalachia, and Brit Invasion to the more offset sounds of the 90’s – 2010’s indie movements. The Grift is a band based in Vermont. Their sound defies easy categorization, blending booty-shaking grooves and improvisation with radio-friendly hooks, witty lyrics, and tight vocal harmonies. Grift shows are energetic and original, with band members swapping instruments and occasionally playing two at a time. Their deep catalog of original music blends roots-rock and pop and jam.

The Grift was formed by two Middlebury College grads Clint Bierman and Jeff Vallone in 1999, and since then has performed 2,300+ shows in 25 states and four countries and continues to grow and evolve, most recently with the addition of the one and only Josh Panda as a band member.
