Nature Writing Retreat

Join Friends of the Mad River for a full-day nature writing workshop on Saturday, Oct. 17!
At 10am, we will begin our 1.8-mile hike to an off-road cabin with a spectacular view of the Northfield Range. This hike will be guided by naturalists Mike Snyder, Luke Foley, and Rohan Press, with stops for nature journaling along the way. Upon arriving at the cabin, we will relax, share a delicious, home-cooked lunch, and work through a series of place-based writing prompts throughout the afternoon. We will return to the trailhead by 4pm.
This special session will be guided by naturalist, forester, and writer Mike Snyder, recent author of “Woods Whys” and the former Vermont Forests, Parks, and Recreation Commissioner.
A sliding scale $70 donation is requested for this event to support our local authors as well as the restoration work of Friends of the Mad River.
Meet at 10am at the Enchanted Forest Trailhead on Tucker Hill Road in Fayston.
Registration required and available at the link below.
