SUMMARY:Cookbook Club -- Gluten-Free Edition
DESCRIPTION:The Warren Public Library Cookbook Club reunites for a summer series outdoors on the pavilion! In cookbook club\, we each choose and prepare a recipe from the same cookbook and bring our dishes to the pavilion to enjoy a potluck dinner together. June’s cookbook selection is The Gluten-Free Cookbook by Cristian Broglia\, containing 350 naturally gluten-free dishes from cuisines around the world. We will have the cookbook on display at the library for you to browse and choose a recipe. \n​Please note: Because participants prepare food in their home kitchens\, we cannot guarantee that finished dishes will be suitable for those with gluten sensitivities. \n​Register in person at the library or at warrenlibrary.com.

SUMMARY:Art & Conversations of Freedom
DESCRIPTION:Art & Conversations of Freedom (ACF) is a 3-hour participatory experience for teens to adults. This free workshop is offered by the MRV Libraries and is supported in part by Vermont Humanities. In ACF\, we examine the ideas of freedom\, power\, and agency through:\n-Pointed conversation in an agreed-upon open dialogue\n-Applied Theater\n-Art-making\nACF provides insights on how to ‘do something’ to negate hate and uplift love. The goal is that when you leave the Art & Conversations of Freedom experience\, you have a new sense of understanding and empathy\, and practical tools for productive communication and civic engagement. \nThis workshop is led by Artivist\, Educator\, and Warren resident\, janet e. dandridge. SUMMARY:Beginner Rug Hooking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In this free workshop hosted by the Warren Public Library\, Sandra Grant will teach you the basics of pulling a loop of wool or yarn up through rug warp backing. We provide all the materials including a hook\, cut wool\, and a geometric design. This will be a simple starter design to get you familiar with the process. Suitable for ages 16-adult. \nSandra is a board member of the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild. She designs and creates hooked birds from hand-dyed wools and yarns.
