Summer Camps in the MRV
Summer is coming and there are so many amazing camp opportunities for kids of all ages in the MRV. Here are just a few of the options;
Mad River Riders Rippers Summer Camp
Offered by the Mad River Riders for kids between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. This camp is presented in partnership with Stark Mountain Bike Works, Mad Bush Falls, Mad River Barn, and Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce. During each one week session, campers will learn mountain bike safety and maintenance, build confident riding techniques, and skills for riding our Valley terrain. Our coaches will focus on building community through mountain bike skill building, safety, trail stewardship, and above all, fun in Mad River Valley.
Flight Experience for Youth (F.E.F.Y)
FEFY funds flight training, ground school, and aviation experiences for young people age 21 and younger eager to learn to fly. The programs that FEFY funds are run by Sugarbush Soaring at the Warren Sugarbush Airport. FEFY’s goal is to give young people the opportunity to experience the world of aviation. Through the process of learning to fly, youth gain skills that go well beyond learning to pilot an aircraft.
Mad River Path Adventures
Mad River Path Adventures: Five, one-week-long overnight Summer Adventure Camps for students ages 10 – 14. MRP Adventures helps build community, strengthens a sense of place, and develops outdoor living skills of self-reliance and resilience. Time spent in nature is healing and nurturing! Each program includes components of adventure sports, wilderness and community living, and service. Programs begin on Sunday and end on Friday, both starting and ending at the Wait House in Waitsfield, VT.
Mad River Valley Arts Camps
Each week-long camp has a different theme including; Comics and Cartoons, Murals, Shibori Dyeing, Nature Inspired Design, Photography and Mixed Media, Macrame and Fiber Arts. All art camps/classes at MRVArts are taught by art professionals with years of teaching experience with youth-young adults. Scholarships are available. Please call office: 802-496-6682
Blockhouse Studio Kids Camps
Come spend the week with us playing in clay! Camps meet every morning from 9am-12pm to work on various projects. Students will be guided through the hand-building techniques of pinching, coiling and slab construction as well as learning the basics of throwing on the wheel. Camp I – Ages 6 to 11 from June 24-28, Camp II – Ages 6 to 11 from August 12-16, Teen Camp – Ages 12 to 17 from July 15-19.
Living Tree Alliance Summer Camps
Living Tree’s serene setting, located on a working homestead and surrounded by forest is a nourishing place to spend the summer. Our private swim hole on the Mad River is a favorite. Options include Farm, River and Forest Exploration, Theater on the Farm and the Valley Teva camp. Registration is now open!
Junior Golf Camps at Sugarbush
Golf camps are for kids age 6 to 12 with two sessions available (July 9-12 and August 6-9), both taught by Sugarbush PGA Head Golf Professional Roger King and his friendly staff, campers will gain knowledge about the rules and game of golf as well as enhance their skills. Camp focuses on intro to golf, instruction, course knowledge, rules, games and more, The sessions are from 9am-12pm Tuesday through Friday.
Sugarbush Adventure Camp
Hiking, biking, rock climbing, creek cruising, mountain exploration, golf, and more for kids ages 7 to 12! Back for the whole summer with 8 weeklong sessions: Monday through Friday from 9-4 each day from June 24 through August 16, 2024 (except on July 4th)
Sugarbush Mini Camps
Experience a Vermont summer just for kids age 4 to 6! Activities include hiking, biking, lift rides, swimming, rock climbing, reek/water exploration, art, nature crafts, field games, and more! 8 weeklong sessions: Monday through Friday from 9-4 each day from June 24 through August 16, 2024 (except on July 4th )
Neck of the Woods Adventure Camp
Various weekly summer camp options for pre-schoolers up to 6th grade. Preschool-Kindergarten summer camp is held at the NOW building while 1st-6th grade camp is held at Harwood Middle School Hours for all programing are 7:45-4:45. Our preschool-Kindergarten camp will experience fun filled weekly themes, trips to the community pool and lots of outdoor adventures. Our rising 1- 3rd graders have an exciting weekly theme teacher come in each week Monday-Wednesday, Thursday is bike day followed with an afternoon trip to the community
