MRV Welcomes Two New Eateries
The Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome two exciting new restaurants to our local business community—both now open and ready to be enjoyed.
Mad Moose Bar and Grill has opened its doors in the former Bluestone Pizza building in Irasville. Operated by Eric and Erin Vreeken and their family, this new, family-run spot builds on familiar favorites with pizza from the existing double-stacked oven, wings, burgers, salads, classic American fare, and a full bar with beer on tap. The restaurant is open six days a week from 3–10 pm, closing Wednesdays. Looking ahead, the Vreekens also have plans to add artisan cabins on the property next spring to support local makers and craftspeople.
In Waitsfield’s Mad River Green shopping center, Joy Bar is set to open in mid-December in the former Collaborative Brewing space. Owned and operated by longtime restaurant professional Emma Delphin, Joy Bar will offer lunch and dinner with a “loosely Mediterranean-inspired” menu, featuring lots of small plates and an emphasis on local and organic ingredients. Delphin is already partnering with area farms and producers, and the thoughtfully renovated space will showcase local artwork alongside warm, handcrafted details. Joy Bar will be open for lunch Tuesday–Sunday and dinner Thursday–Saturday.
We encourage the business community—and the wider Valley—to come out, try these new restaurants, and help give them a warm welcome. And as always, we hope you’ll continue to support all of our local eateries, whose creativity, commitment, and hospitality are such an essential part of the Mad River Valley.
