Our Accommodations
Our collection includes The Kismet Cabin, a three-bedroom log home built from locally harvested timber, and the Alpine Suite, a bright one-bedroom apartment above the garage. Seasonally, the cabin’s one-bedroom chalet unit is also available—perfect for couples seeking a classic Vermont log cabin experience at an approachable rate. Coming in summer 2026, our new tiny house retreat will offer a peaceful, wellness-focused escape for two.

Location
Surrounded by quiet woods, Kismet feels off the beaten path yet offers easy access to the Mad River Valley’s best destinations. We’re under 10 minutes from Warren Village and about 20 to Waitsfield’s town center—a mountain-biking destination with miles of singletrack, plus great shops, cafés, and community events. Sugarbush is 15 minutes away, Mad River Glen 20, and both Stowe and Killington about an hour.
Blueberry Lake is within walking distance for paddling, biking, and cross-country skiing. Warren Falls and the scenic Route 100 Byway are just five minutes away, and nearby venues such as Lareau Farm, the Round Barn, and Skinner Barn make Kismet an ideal stay for wedding groups. Heading south toward the Green Mountain National Golf Course—one of Vermont’s most beautiful—you’ll pass Moss Glen and Texas Falls, both worth a stop.

Comfort, Craftsmanship & Care
We believe great stays come down to genuine hospitality— the kind that anticipates what you need before you ask. From live plants and local artwork to kitchens stocked with coffee, olive oil, and spices, every detail is intentional. Firewood, lake gear, and fresh herbs from the garden are ready when you are.

Whether you’re here to ski, paddle, hike, bike, or simply unwind; we’ve created a place where comfort, craftsmanship, and care meet in a way that feels simple, thoughtful, and distinctly Vermont.

About Us
My husband, Tony, and I, along with our three children, are the family behind Kismet Properties Vermont. My connection to the Mad River Valley began in childhood, spending every school break here in vacation rentals surrounded by country roads, grazing cows, and forest-covered mountains. I still remember one place that rang a bell for breakfast and thinking, “Someday I want to do this—create a warm, welcoming place for people to stay.” I loved it here so much that I moved to Vermont right after high school and never left.

Tony was born and raised in the Mad River Valley, and together we’ve worked to carry forward the property my father bought in the early ’80s—a small hunting camp that became my family’s constant. After my father passed, I felt a deep pull to save it and finish what he started, including the tiny house he had begun. With Tony and our kids, we’ve poured our hearts into restoring the land and transforming it into a place we’re proud to share.

That’s how Kismet Properties was born—out of love for this land, a lifetime of memories, and a desire to create something meaningful that feels like home for everyone who visits.
