Help Shape the Future of the MRV Chamber’s Membership Model

The Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce is launching an important initiative: designing a new tiered membership model  that better reflects the diversity of our business community. This new approach will ensure that members of all shapes and sizes—from small start-ups to established enterprises—can find the right fit and the right value in their Chamber investment. But here’s the key: we need your voice at the table.

Why Your Input Matters
Every sector of our local economy has unique needs, challenges, and goals. By participating in this process, you’ll help us design a model that:

• Recognizes what members value most.
• Offers benefits that are meaningful and equitable.
• Creates opportunities for growth, collaboration, and community impact.

Your feedback will directly shape how the Chamber delivers value to members—and ultimately, how we support the vitality of the Mad River Valley.

The Process

Designing the tiered model will take about 2–3 months. Once we have a final version, we’ll move into an implementation plan. Here’s the roadmap:

1. Form the Task Force
We’re recruiting representatives from across all sectors to provide feedback and share ideas for benefits in each membership tier.

2. Gather Insights
Before the first meeting, task force members will review key information, including membership data, our current model, and an inventory of Chamber benefits.

3. First Meeting (1.5 hours)
Share what motivates you to engage with the Chamber, Discuss the most valuable aspects of membership and Identify “core benefits” every member should receive, plus additional benefits for specific tiers.

4. Draft the Model
Based on your input, we’ll draft a tiered membership model. At the second meeting (1 hour), task force members will review and refine it.

5. Finalize & Implement
With your help, we’ll shape the final version and prepare for rollout.

What’s Expected of You
We know your time is valuable. While there is some work involved, it **shouldn’t be too onerous**:

• A bit of pre-reading before meetings.
• Participation in 2–3 focused meetings over the course of 2–3 months.
• Sharing your perspective and ideas openly.
