This week-long camp\, running Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM\, is designed for kids ages 8 and up who are excited to make some art\, explore their creative side\, and do it all in a supportive environment. Campers will be guided through a variety of creative experiences that encourage creativity\, experimentation\, confidence\, and self-expression. \nEach day\, campers will have the option to dive into different mediums – ranging from painting and mixed media to sculpture and design – working on unique\, engaging projects that keep the week fresh and exciting. During the week\, the group will also collaborate on a special outdoor art piece designed to live on-site as a semi-permanent installation\, giving campers a chance to contribute to something lasting and meaningful. \nAll materials\, as well as snacks and drinks\, will be provided – just bring your creativity! There will also always be another adult helping the kids on their work and keeping them safe!\nTo celebrate the week’s work\, we’ll host a Friday evening Art Showcase\, where campers can proudly display their creations for family and friends. The artwork will remain on display throughout the weekend for the community to enjoy. \nPlease complete one form for each child who will be attending camp. She also attended the San Francisco Art Institute for an intensive summer program where she studied Painting and Photography. Over the past two years\, she has grown her own art business\, creating a wide range of work\, including murals\, hand-painted skateboards\, block prints\, and custom canvas commissions. Alongside her artistic practice\, Anna also has experience working with children and brings a fun\, encouraging\, and engaging approach to teaching.

More than just a walk in the woods—it’s an invitation to step into the hidden world of the Green Mountains. This season’s hikes will take place:  \nMay 16th: 2pm-4pm – Snowshoe Trail (~2 hours) \nJune 20th: 5-7:30pm – Solstice Hike to the Kent Thomas Nature Center. Join us as we explore the flora and fauna that thrives in the diverse landscape of Mad River Glen\, ranging from the pollinators of common flowers along the ski trails to ephemeral plants of the moist forest. Expect to learn about wildlife and how you can contribute your day-to-day natural observations to benefit conservation. Medium/ High intensity (>800ft elevation gain)  \nJuly 18th: 2pm-3:30pm – Waterfall Hike (~1.5 hours) \nAugust 15th: 2pm-4pm – up the Snowshoe Trail & down the 19th hole (~2 hours) \nSeptember 19th: 2pm-4pm – Snowshoe Trail (~2 hours) \nOctober 3rd (Green and Gold Weekend): 1p-4pm (~3hrs) High Intensity (take lift up and hike down the mountain) \nOctober 17th: Kent Thomas Nature Center – 2pm-5pm  (~2.5-3hrs) \nHikes are open to ages 5+ (a supervising adult must accompany children)\, pre-registration is required to attend\, and registration is limited. SUMMARY:Mow Crew
DESCRIPTION:Mow some grass\, earn your pass! Mow crew is the best way to get an intimate look at all of the nooks and crannies of Stark Mountain\, burn some calories and make new ski buddies. At the end of the 10 days of work you’ll have earned some cash for your pocket and a full season’s pass for the upcoming winter. \nA little run down on how we mow our trails… We use hand scythes to cut the grass\, ferns and shrubs on the steepest slopes here at Mad River Glen. Most of the beginner and intermediate terrain is mowed with a tractor\, mow crew steps in to finish off the areas the tractor can’t go. We mow and move in a line shoulder-to-shoulder hiking up the trails as we go. It can be tough work but the camaraderie makes it so much fun! Truly\, it is rewarding and at the end of the 10 days\, you’ll have a full season ski pass and some cash in your pocket. Not only that but you will likely have learned something about the terrain you didn’t already know and you’ll have gained a couple of new ski buddies. \nThe day begins at 7:00 am and we mow until about 3:00 pm with many short breaks in between. A backpack with a hydration pack is highly recommended and you should also pack yourself enough food to get you through the day. There will be water stations along the route to refill your containers and likely a ride down on the chairlift at the end of the day to ease the knees. Most people wear pants and long sleeves to fend off bugs and protect them from the sun but a few hardy folks go shorts and tees\, everyone wears hiking boots – no exceptions. We will provide the scythe\, a pair of work gloves\, a sharpening stone/tools and water. \nIf you’re interested in joining the mow crew this fall please send an email to ry@madriverglen.com.
