It is meant to be an open\, collaborative brainstorming session designed to help you feel a little more prepared the next time you create a post or reel. \nLet’s be honest\, social media can feel overwhelming.\nWhat do you post?\nShould you use trending sounds?\nDo captions really matter?\nWhat makes a strong hook?\nWhy should people follow your page? Is your SEO set up? \nThis workshop is a space to come together and talk all things social. We’ll brainstorm content ideas\, discuss what’s actually working right now\, explore collaborations\, and share experiences. The goal? You leave feeling inspired and ready to create a few new posts for your page.  We will  share hook ideas\, trending sound ideas\, adding words to the screen\, adding captions\, and anything else you would like to cover. The event is hosted by Samantha Ciccone\, the coordinator of the MRV Women in Business Group. \nPlease feel free to BYOB if you’d like to sip while we brainstorm\, and you’re welcome to grab snacks from Peace Burger across the street or from your favorite local spot.

This season’s hikes will take place:  \nMay 16th: 2pm-4pm – Snowshoe Trail (~2 hours) \nJune 20th: 5-7:30pm – Solstice Hike to the Kent Thomas Nature Center. Join us as we explore the flora and fauna that thrives in the diverse landscape of Mad River Glen\, ranging from the pollinators of common flowers along the ski trails to ephemeral plants of the moist forest. Expect to learn about wildlife and how you can contribute your day-to-day natural observations to benefit conservation. Medium/ High intensity (>800ft elevation gain)  \nJuly 18th: 2pm-3:30pm – Waterfall Hike (~1.5 hours) \nAugust 15th: 2pm-4pm – up the Snowshoe Trail & down the 19th hole (~2 hours) \nSeptember 19th: 2pm-4pm – Snowshoe Trail (~2 hours) \nOctober 3rd (Green and Gold Weekend): 1p-4pm (~3hrs) High Intensity (take lift up and hike down the mountain) \nOctober 17th: Kent Thomas Nature Center – 2pm-5pm  (~2.5-3hrs) \nHikes are open to ages 5+ (a supervising adult must accompany children)\, pre-registration is required to attend\, and registration is limited. Enjoy hits from classic and contemporary Broadway musicals\, along with some original songs. The singers\, accompanied by a live band\, will perform songs intermingled with stories about their professional journeys. \nThe event will be an intimate look at some of the most legendary musicals and life as a Broadway performer. \nGates open at 5:00 PM for picnicking. Some basic circus skills and partner acrobatics will also be taught! We will be discovering what it takes to be a strong performer and a good audience member. Games and laughs abound! There will also be outdoor components of this camp: popsicles\, playground\, and giant bubbles!\nStudents will share some of what they’ve learned at a short performance for parents/siblings/grandparents during the final afternoon. \nThis is a drop-off camp: we will help create a comfortable transition for your child when they arrive each day. Campers will bring a lunch to eat together\, during which we will watch age appropriate clown material from some of the greats like: Charlie Chaplin\, Lucille Ball\, Laurel & Hardy\, Mr. Bean\, and Monty Python. \nPlease complete one form for each child who will be attending camp. We will send additional information about what to expect and camp procedures as we get closer to summer. Starting in 2011\, she and Bobby began training with Dody Disanto at The Center for Movement Theatre in Washington DC. They have performed with the DC Fringe Festival\, Zip Zap Circus and regularly at Clown Cabaret. In 2014\, the duo traveled to Haiti to volunteer with Clowns Without Borders and performed for over 5000 children. Kolleen later became a hospital clown for Healthy Humor and made rounds as Dr. Pickle at Johns Hopkins for 6 years.\nKolleen & Bobby Kintz have been teaching artists since 2013. Beginning their journey with the instruction of 3 & 4 year olds\, in Del Ray\, VA. Later developing their own circus camp for ages 5-13\, which ran in Baltimore at Morgan State University for 5 years. In the summer of 2023\, Kolleen & Bobby premiered their Mad River Valley based programming\, with a 6 week summer session for preschoolers and have had ongoing programming ever since. SUMMARY:STAND UP FOR SAFETY WORKSHOPS
DESCRIPTION:In the Mad River Valley\, we believe that everyone — whether they live here\, work here\, or visit — deserves to feel safe. To support that vision the chamber’s is launching a new series of Stand Up for Safety workshops designed to help hospitality workers recognize and respond to situations that may threaten the safety or well-being of themselves\, their co-workers\, or their guests. \nThese interactive sessions will equip front-line staff with practical tools to: \n\nRecognize signs of harm\, harassment\, or exploitation\nRespond appropriately and safely when concerns arise\nConnect individuals in need with the right support services\n\nThe workshops are approachable\, hands-on\, and rooted in real-world hospitality settings — from restaurants and inns to shops and recreation businesses. While the curriculum is still being finalized\, the goal is clear: to ensure the Mad River Valley remains a safe and welcoming place for all.
