Ancient stories\, Hebrew songs\, and blessings will be part of our daily rhythm as we celebrate our connection to the land and seasons. \nTwo age groups:\n—Buds\, ages 4–6 (preschool/K)\n—Flowers\, ages 7–11 \nWhile Valley Teva is rooted in Jewish tradition\, families of all backgrounds are welcome to join us in nature and community.

SUMMARY:STAND UP FOR SAFETY WORKSHOPS
DESCRIPTION:In the Mad River Valley\, we believe that everyone — whether they live here\, work here\, or visit — deserves to feel safe. To support that vision the chamber’s is launching a new series of Stand Up for Safety workshops designed to help hospitality workers recognize and respond to situations that may threaten the safety or well-being of themselves\, their co-workers\, or their guests. \nThese interactive sessions will equip front-line staff with practical tools to: \n\nRecognize signs of harm\, harassment\, or exploitation\nRespond appropriately and safely when concerns arise\nConnect individuals in need with the right support services\n\nThe workshops are approachable\, hands-on\, and rooted in real-world hospitality settings — from restaurants and inns to shops and recreation businesses. While the curriculum is still being finalized\, the goal is clear: to ensure the Mad River Valley remains a safe and welcoming place for all. The workshops are organized and facilitated by Anna Nassset Consulting. \nUpcoming Workshops will all take place at the MRV Chamber Welcome Center \n\nJanuary 22 – 10-11 am: Understanding DV\, HT\, and Stalking\nExplore how to identify and respond to domestic violence\, human trafficking\, and stalking in both customers and co-workers\, and learn about available local and national resources.\nApril 7- 10-11 am: Sexual Assault Awareness Month\nLearn to recognize early warning signs of sexual assault\, how to respond to disclosures\, and how to connect survivors with resources and support.\nAugust 5 – 10-11 am: Workplace Culture\nDiscover how to build a supportive workplace culture where all employees feel safe and valued\, through stories\, exercises\, and practical leadership strategies.\nBack in October 22  GBV Bystander Training was offered\nWe learned the basics of gender-based violence prevention\, including the 4D’s of bystander intervention\, and how to empower yourself and others to make a difference.\n\nA Community Commitment\n“Hospitality is the backbone of the Mad River Valley’s economy and culture\,” said Eric Friedman\, Executive Director of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce. “By giving our front-line staff the tools and confidence to recognize and respond to difficult situations\, we’re not just protecting individuals — we’re strengthening the fabric of our community and ensuring the Valley remains a safe\, welcoming place for everyone.” \nAbout Stand Up for Safety\nA collaboration between local businesses\, resorts\, and organizations committed to standing up to gender-based violence and fostering a culture of care in the Mad River Valley. \nFor more information about the workshops\, or to learn how your business can get involved\, please contact info@madriverrvalley.com and/or visit www.madrivervalley.com/stand-up-for-safety \n

This season’s hikes will take place:  \nMay 16th: 2pm-4pm – Snowshoe Trail (~2 hours) \nJuly 18th: 2pm-3:30pm – Waterfall Hike (~1.5 hours) \nAugust 15th: 2pm-4pm – up the Snowshoe Trail & down the 19th hole (~2 hours) \nSeptember 19th: 2pm-4pm – Snowshoe Trail (~2 hours) \nOctober 3rd (Green and Gold Weekend): 1p-4pm (~3hrs) High Intensity (take lift up and hike down the mountain) \nOctober 17th: Kent Thomas Nature Center – 2pm-5pm  (~2.5-3hrs) \nHikes are open to ages 5+ (a supervising adult must accompany children)\, pre-registration is required to attend\, and registration is limited. DESCRIPTION:They said it would never happen\, but the times are a changin’! In this era of divisiveness all around us\, we are working hard to build as many bridges  as we can. We take great pleasure in working ever more closely with our good neighbors at out counterpart organization\, Discover Waterbury. We are doing all we can to promote our interconnected region and encourage visitation and collaboration. \nTo enhance that collaboration we thought it would be a great idea to have a joint social gathering to celebrate our combined work and encourage further collaboration. And what better venue than the magnificent inn and grounds at the famous Moose Meadow Lodge & Treehouse located in the “neutral” ground” of Duxbury Vermont\, AKA “De-Lux-Bury”! \nIf you haven’t been to the lodge and treehouse or been to one of their summer concerts  you are in for an absolute treat\, especially in the autumn. There will be more specifics coming up about this meeting as we get closer so stay tuned. \nOne of the MRV-DW collaborations that has been significant has been our work to bring international tourists to our Route 100 corridor.
