SUMMARY:The ACLU for YOUTH Summer Program
DESCRIPTION:Harwood ACLU club in collaboration with Joslin Memorial Library present a free three-day youth workshop facilitated by local high school students and teachers as well as ACLU VT staff\, lawyers\, and policy advocates. Each day will center on one of three key issues the ACLU works on: Immigrant Rights\, Trans Rights\, and Housing Rights and culminate in a mock trial based on a real ACLU case that will be held at Joslin Library and open to the wider public. Open to middle and high schoolers (rising 7th-12th graders). Free to attend! Refreshments and materials provided. \nThis program is supported in part by Vermont Humanities and the Mad River Valley Rotary Club.

DESCRIPTION:Join Rachel Wylie-Fenton of Where The Love Lies for our monthly Community Grief Group—a free gathering generously sponsored by Hannah’s House. \nGrief can feel isolating\, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. This group offers a gentle\, welcoming space to come as you are\, connect with others\, and spend time with whatever grief you may be carrying. \nRachel will gently facilitate the gathering\, offering a little structure and plenty of room to breathe. You’re invited to share\, listen\, reflect\, or simply be present. There is no right way to grieve\, and there is no expectation that you have to speak. \nAll kinds of grief are welcome here. This may include the loss of a loved one\, chronic or terminal illness\, the loss of a beloved pet\, changing stages of life\, environmental or global grief\, and the many other visible and invisible losses we experience throughout our lives. \nAnd your grief doesn’t have to be recent to belong here. Grief stays with us throughout our lives; it simply changes shape as time passes. Sometimes it is close to the surface\, and sometimes it quietly surprises us. There is room for all of it. \nAll grief is valid. All grief is welcome. \n📍 Location: Enter through the back door and take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor.
