DESCRIPTION:The Mad River Rug Hookers meet downstairs at the Warren library on the second Friday of every month. Our monthly “hook in” a chance to socialize\, solicit rug hooking advice\, admire the works of many rug hookers and meet new hookers! \nWe have many new rug hookers\, and more are welcome. We have an introductory kit for $30\, which includes wool\, a hook and a portable hoop frame. Sandra Grant is a very accomplished rug hooking instructor to teach the basics skills and application of wool and fiber for desired effects. \nIf you are interested in attending or learning to hook wool\, or have questions contact Sandy at slgrant22@hotmail.com to share your questions or to be included in her Monthly email invite and ensure enough new member kits.

DESCRIPTION:The Valley Artists Guild proudly announces the 14th Annual Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition (GMWE) —an acclaimed celebration of watercolor painting that has grown from a grassroots show in 2012 into a nationally recognized summer exhibition. \nThe 2026 exhibition will be held June 11 through July 19 at the Historic Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm & Forest\, located on Route 100 in Waitsfield\, Vermont. \nFeaturing the work of over 60 accomplished watercolor artists from across the United States\, the exhibition draws more than 3\,000 visitors each year to experience a vibrant and diverse range of contemporary watercolor painting\, including entries in conjunction with the Whiskey Painters of America—it’s a show within a show! \nThis year\, more than $7\,000 in awards will be presented to artists demonstrating exceptional skill and vision in the medium. \nThe exhibition has received international attention\, including recognition by the French publication Art of Watercolour as one of America’s premier summer watercolor exhibitions. This is the only weather dependent part of the day\, yoga classes will be outside only so if there is a threat of rain we will make the call the afternoon before\, check social media if it looks like rain or call us at Joy 802-496-4045 to check in. Suggested donation $15\, bring your own yoga mat or towel if you can\, we will have a handful to share \n-12:00-1:00- lunch at Joy with take out and grab and go options for the river or wherever your summer afternoon takes you \n-2:00-5:00- live music and artists market with children activities from Inkling’s Children’s book store on the green. In the case of inclement weather we will celebrate in Joy. This is the only weather dependent part of the day\, yoga classes will be outside only so if there is a threat of rain we will make the call the afternoon before\, check social media if it looks like rain or call us at Joy 802-496-4045 to check in. Suggested donation $15\, bring your own yoga mat or towel if you can\, we will have a handful to share \n-12:00-1:00- lunch at Joy with take out and grab and go options for the river or wherever your summer afternoon takes you \n-2:00-5:00- live music and artists market with children activities from Inkling’s Children’s book store on the green. In the case of inclement weather we will celebrate in Joy.
