DESCRIPTION:Joy presents Summer Sundays on the Green:\nevery Sunday starting this week 6/28 we are hosting community centered days here at Joy and on the adjoining green at the Mad River Shops. \n-11:00-12:00- yoga on the green\, I will teach the first class and will alternate with Aimee Clement\, another wonderful local yoga teacher. This is the only weather dependent part of the day\, yoga classes will be outside only so if there is a threat of rain we will make the call the afternoon before\, check social media if it looks like rain or call us at Joy 802-496-4045 to check in. Suggested donation $15\, bring your own yoga mat or towel if you can\, we will have a handful to share \n-12:00-1:00- lunch at Joy with take out and grab and go options for the river or wherever your summer afternoon takes you \n-2:00-5:00- live music and artists market with children activities from Inkling’s Children’s book store on the green. In the case of inclement weather we will celebrate in Joy. DESCRIPTION:The Valley Artists Guild proudly announces the 14th Annual Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition (GMWE) —an acclaimed celebration of watercolor painting that has grown from a grassroots show in 2012 into a nationally recognized summer exhibition. \nThe 2026 exhibition will be held June 11 through July 19 at the Historic Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm & Forest\, located on Route 100 in Waitsfield\, Vermont. \nFeaturing the work of over 60 accomplished watercolor artists from across the United States\, the exhibition draws more than 3\,000 visitors each year to experience a vibrant and diverse range of contemporary watercolor painting\, including entries in conjunction with the Whiskey Painters of America—it’s a show within a show! \nThis year\, more than $7\,000 in awards will be presented to artists demonstrating exceptional skill and vision in the medium. \nThe exhibition has received international attention\, including recognition by the French publication Art of Watercolour as one of America’s premier summer watercolor exhibitions. This distinction continues to attract highly regarded jurors who carefully select outstanding works for inclusion and award honors. \nCome spend an evening summer with us in the beautiful Big Red Barn at Lareau Farm (home of American Flatbread)\, Waitsfield\, VT. DESCRIPTION:Presented by Monday Nights Theater Company (MNTC) and featuring poet Sarah Audsley \nJoin us for an evening of poetry hosted by poet Amy Beth Sisson and naturalist-garden designer Rose Fairley. \nGiven the dual existential crises of climate and biodiversity\, what can poets and poetry teach us about being human and connecting as members of the natural world? \nSarah Audsley’s collection Landlock X (Texas Review Press) emerged from the landscape of Vermont as well as her identity as a trans-racial adoptee and both the flora and seasonality of Vermont are threaded throughout the collection. \nIn addition to Sarah’s oeuvre\, actors from MNTC will perform works by poets such as Franny Choi\, Louise Glück\, Ross Gay\, Amy Beth Sisson\, Jacqueline Suskin and other poets that interrogate the complex relationship we have as/with “nature” at this moment in our species history. \nOUR PLACE AS NATURE\, IN POEMS is both a celebration of the wild in poetry as well as an acknowledgement of the precarious moment we are all living in. This event is free and open to the public\, but registration is encouraged along with a $10 donation. Half of money donated will go towards the nascent native plant restoration nursery at the North Branch Nature Center and the other half to MNTC’s inaugural season!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a three hour master class in on-camera acting with Monday Nights Theatre Company founding member Annie Chang (Peacemaker on HBO\, Interior Chinatown on Hulu; Wild Swans\, The Young Vic\, A.R.T\, 4000 Miles\, Studio Theatre). \nUsing a simple setup that you can recreate at home (one that Annie uses for her own auditions)\, learn film acting foundations as well as the technical skills that will help you perform confidently and creatively on-screen. Annie will assign participants an on-camera scene to workshop in class and offer coaching from the perspective of a working actor and experienced acting instructor with over 9 years of experience. On-camera participants will receive the footage from class to assist them as they continue to hone their craft and on-camera acting techniques. \nAnnie has a passion for bringing out her students best work\, often coaching clients while they are working on films and tv series as well as helping them develop their talent into audition skills that book work. This workshop will also include a Q&A regarding the business side of film/tv. \n18+ \np.s. Curious but not ready to perform in front of other people? Don’t worry\, you can reserve a sliding scale spot to still participate without performing on camera. Those auditing the class can ask questions and learn from Annie’s coaching\, and may be asked to volunteer to read with those performing on-camera.

Some basic circus skills and partner acrobatics will also be taught! We will be discovering what it takes to be a strong performer and a good audience member. Games and laughs abound! There will also be outdoor components of this camp: popsicles\, playground\, and giant bubbles!\nStudents will share some of what they’ve learned at a short performance for parents/siblings/grandparents during the final afternoon. \nThis is a drop-off camp: we will help create a comfortable transition for your child when they arrive each day. In 2014\, the duo traveled to Haiti to volunteer with Clowns Without Borders and performed for over 5000 children. Kolleen later became a hospital clown for Healthy Humor and made rounds as Dr. Pickle at Johns Hopkins for 6 years.\nKolleen & Bobby Kintz have been teaching artists since 2013. Beginning their journey with the instruction of 3 & 4 year olds\, in Del Ray\, VA. Later developing their own circus camp for ages 5-13\, which ran in Baltimore at Morgan State University for 5 years. DESCRIPTION:Jest Fest 2026\nAn All-Ages Comedy Festival! \nLaughter brings us joy. It heals – laughter is the best medicine – and it builds community – and it’s the only thing people are not afraid to catch! We need all of things more than ever now. In response\, Vermont’s Camp Meade is working in association with local comics and the non-profit Vermont Comedy All Stars to create a family friendly comedy festival\, Jest Fest 2026. \nCamp Meade has served for over a decade as a community and educational center in Central Vermont dedicated to music\, arts\, education and cultural programming. Vermont Comedy All Stars is a nonprofit\, founded in 2020\, dedicated to the promotion of the comic arts in Vermont. VCAS has produced over 120 stand up comedy shows around the state\, including multi-year runs at Next Stage Arts in Putney\, Bent Nails Roadhouse in Middlesex (formerly Bent Nails Bistro in Montpelier) and up until its closure in 2025\, the iconic Nectar’s in Burlington. Some basic circus skills and partner acrobatics will also be taught! We will be discovering what it takes to be a strong performer and a good audience member. Games and laughs abound! There will also be outdoor components of this camp: popsicles\, playground\, and giant bubbles!\nStudents will share some of what they’ve learned at a short performance for parents/siblings/grandparents during the final afternoon. \nThis is a drop-off camp: we will help create a comfortable transition for your child when they arrive each day. In 2014\, the duo traveled to Haiti to volunteer with Clowns Without Borders and performed for over 5000 children. Kolleen later became a hospital clown for Healthy Humor and made rounds as Dr. Pickle at Johns Hopkins for 6 years.\nKolleen & Bobby Kintz have been teaching artists since 2013. Beginning their journey with the instruction of 3 & 4 year olds\, in Del Ray\, VA. Later developing their own circus camp for ages 5-13\, which ran in Baltimore at Morgan State University for 5 years. In the summer of 2023\, Kolleen & Bobby premiered their Mad River Valley based programming\, with a 6 week summer session for preschoolers and have had ongoing programming ever since.
