DESCRIPTION:Amendment: Knell of a Nation is a ritual performance and participatory art action that draws on the healing powers of water\, fire\, and earth. Participants are invited to write offerings for a new social contract on seeded postcards that will be planted and grown in a garden open to the public. \nThis performance engages thought-provoking political imagery and includes the ritual use of fire\, conducted in accordance with state and local laws. The performance will be recorded; by attending\, participants consent to being filmed. The artwork runs about 30 minutes\, followed by a facilitated conversation to share thoughts and process feelings together. \nConquering hate takes radical love\, radical imagination\, and radical self-care. Please join us for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. \nSelf-Guided Garden Tour – Rain or Shine\, Saturday June 20\, 10-4pm \nThis year the Mad River Valley Arts tour will include five private houses in addition to gardens for visitors to tour. The Mad River Valley is home to the Mad River in between two mountain ridges so views are spectacular. Houses on the tour will be of architectural note and/or will include artworks of interest. In addition\, a regenerative farm will be available for visitors to tour and learn about the farm’s initiatives. This year each house or garden will include artists painting or making baskets and hooked rugs in the gardens or displaying and selling their work.
