SUMMARY:Unplowed Realities
DESCRIPTION:Unplowed Realities examines farms\, land\, and animals as interconnected systems of survival\, care\, and resilience at a time when small farmers face mounting economic and environmental pressures. \nThrough portraiture\, Joan O’Neal explores the animal gaze\, positioning the dairy cow as a subject rather than a resource. Her portraits invite us to consider empathy\, labor\, vulnerability\, and our relationships with other species. \nGeorge Shenk\, community activist\, experimental farmer\, writer\, and creative\, explores the human labor of sustaining small farms and the vital connections between land\, food\, animals\, and community. \nTogether\, their work asks us to reconsider how we value land\, labor\, food\, and life and reminds us that ecological health and community well-being are deeply connected.

SUMMARY:MRVBC new BC zone trail work day!
DESCRIPTION:The new BC zone on Camel’s Hump NEEDS US! If you missed the news about this zone\, see our past newsletters Fall 2026 and Fall 2025 on our website mrvbc.org/news. Let’s get out there and build some snow karma – it’s time to clean up the two primary downhill lines. \nWorking with Vermont Dept of Forests\, Parks\, and Rec\, the Catamount Trail Association and MRVBC have been out several times this Fall already to “flag” and then cut the selected trees that will allow us just enough space to play. Expect a full day of good solid work removing the trees\, clearing underbrush\, and full contact leaf peeping. Plus make buddies\, check out the layout of the new zone\, get intel and gear tips\, and expect to hang for a little parking lot apres. \nTo volunteer\, please sign up at the website link provided\, or email us info@mrvbc.org if you have questions. And remember\, your membership helps make all this happen – become a CTA/MRVBC member today! \nCome out and be part of the community\, help maintain our trails so we can play safely this winter and have adventures right in our backyard!
