THE CONTEST
1. Submit your music
Artists must submit two original songs and/or live performance video by Monday, September the 14th.
2. Must be local
You must be a Vermont-based solo artist, duo, or group and be available to perform at Afterthoughts on October 7.
3. Get your people involved
Once submissions close, finalists will be selected and posted on the Afterthoughts Instagram/Facebook. The community will have a chance to vote for their favorite.
4. Bring the heat 🔥on September 18th. Time TBD.
Public voting will be one part of the decision. Afterthoughts and the event team will make the final selection based on musical fit, performance, originality, and overall vibe.
5. Winner gets the stage
The winning artist will open the October 7 show for Kota the Friend + Landon Wordswell, performing an opening set at Afterthoughts.

IMPORTANT STUFF
• Must be 18+ or have appropriate parental/guardian permission.
• Must be available October 7.
• Original music only — no tribute/cover acts.
• Artists are responsible for providing any special equipment not included in the venue’s standard setup.
• By submitting, you give Afterthoughts permission to share your submitted music/video and promotional materials for purposes of the contest and event promotion.
• The final decision on the opening act will be made by Afterthoughts and event organizers.
