Deep Roots, Lasting Support: Whitney Tree Service Joins the MRV Chamber

Mad River Valley Memory TreeCelebrating 25 years of serving the Mad River Valley, Whitney Tree Service is joining the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce and helping plan the next chapter for a familiar community landmark: the Memory Tree.

Since 2001, Whitney Tree Service has provided professional tree care for Valley homeowners, businesses, condominium associations and municipalities. Led by owner and ISA-Certified Arborist Adam Whitney, the company brings experienced care and an understanding of tree health and safety to its work, including pruning and tree removal.

For Adam, the Memory Tree already holds personal significance. He has helped decorate it with Christmas lights in the past, making this new partnership a natural extension of an existing connection.

Whitney Tree Service is partnering with the Chamber to plan for the tree’s eventual removal and replacement. The goal is to leave the existing tree standing through the holidays so everyone can enjoy its blue lights for one more season, with a replacement tentatively planned for next spring. The Chamber will continue working with the property owners over the winter to establish arrangements for the site before plans are finalized.

The partnership reflects the spirit of the Chamber’s stewardMRV work: bringing local businesses, volunteers and property owners together to care for places that matter to our community. It also offers a meaningful way for more Valley residents to get to know Whitney Tree Service and the people behind it.

Whitney Tree Service joins another established Valley trade business, A.W. Clark Builders, in becoming a Chamber member and supporting a community project. A.W. Clark recently stepped up as a major sponsor of the Allen Clark Hill Climb, which benefits Vermont Adaptive and supports local accessibility improvements through the Chamber’s micro-grant initiative.

Two longtime local businesses, two different projects, and a shared commitment to giving back to the community that has supported them over the years.

Their involvement reinforces the value of a Chamber that brings together businesses of every kind. The trades are essential to life in the Valley, caring for our homes, properties and community spaces. Their expertise and participation make our collective work stronger.

We’re grateful to Adam, Marilyn and Whitney Tree Service for helping plan a future for the Memory Tree, and to A.W. Clark for its generous community support. Please join us in welcoming both businesses to the Chamber—and congratulating Whitney Tree Service on 25 years in the Mad River Valley.
