MRV Chamber Initiatives
The Mad River Valley Chamber is involved in various initiatives designed to help our business community achieve our collective goals. Here is a rundown on the various things the MRV Chamber has initiated:
- Vermont Outdoor Recreations Economic Collaborative
The MRV Chamber conceptualized and helped to organize the collaboration of applying for and receiving a $410,000 VOREC Grant that will benefit our community for generations to come. - Stand Up for Safety
The first community-wide program of its kind in the nation is, designed to promote a culture of safety within the hospitality community. - Star Kits
Over the past 15 years or so beautifully lit stars have become a ubiquitous feature around the Mad River Valley. Four years ago the Chamber began to sell “Star Kits” to benefit the foundations created for the 5 kids we lost in car crash back in 2017. - stewardMRV initiative
This Chamber initiate is transforming the way our community takes care of its outdoor recreation access points. Proper stewardship is essential in maintaining the resiliency of recreation and the health of the environment in the Mad River Valley (MRV). Scenic beauty, a healthy, natural world, and world-class outdoor recreation are all at the heart of why people visit and live here. How we care for the MRV is critical for our vibrant future. - Mad River Valley Women in Business
A Chamber organized network of women business leaders in our community who have come together to unite, support, connect and grow. The goal is to foster and support a vehicle for women to work together to support one another, access information and resources, achieve business goals and promote the greater good in the MRV. - Legislative Efforts
Advocacy is an important component of the MRV Chambers purpose. We work in concert with the legislative team at the Vermont and Lake Champlain Chambers to track legislation and represent our members at the local, state, and federal level. We also work outside of the legislative process to influence regulation and serve as an advocate for our members when engaging with agencies and departments. - The Best of Route 100
A collaboration with our neighboring organizations; The Stowe Areas Association and Revitalizing Waterbury designed to promote our region collectively. Due date, this programs has received grants totaling over $90,000. - The Mad River Valley Planning District
The Chamber advocates for business interests as a voting member and active participant in Vermont’s first multi-town planning district. - Sector Groups
Working to bring together the various business sectors (hospitality, retail, restaurants, consultants, etc.…) to engage, inform and empower. - Branding
The MRV Chamber has created the Mad River Valley logo identity mark that our entire community can share and rally around. - Co-operative Advertising
The MRV Chamber coordinating cooperative advertising opportunities for various segments of our business community.

MRV Chamber members are eligible for supplemental vision and dental insurance for owners, employees and their families.
These just a few of the things the MRV Chamber does. What it doesn’t account for are the odd phone calls, emails and social media inquiries on the most random of subjects. Folks don’t know who to ask so they call the chamber. Because we are so plugged into the community we can answer near anything that comes up or can direct them to the appropriate person or organization. All of these functions would simply not be done if not for the MRV Chamber and they do not come for free.
Benefiting from Chamber membership is not about simply writing a check each year. It is about being involved and taking advantage of the opportunities, The Mad River Valley Chamber is an important investment for your business and to the MRV community generally.
