Mad River Path – Mad River Park

Recreational fields with a 0.5 mile walking and running path, picnic area and memorial benches for the public to use and enjoy.

Formerly a quarry and an airfield for small planes, the Mad River Park Recreation Fields now serve as a vital recreation resource for the local community. The Mad River Valley Recreation District acquired this land in 2017 to provide for the youth and public recreation needs of Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield & Warren. The purchase and site improvements were made possible through efforts of dedicated volunteers and assistance from the Vermont Land Trust. Financial support for the project came from the four towns, the Vermont Land & Water Conservation Fund Grant Program, and generous donations from many community members. Mad River Park Recreation Fields serve as the home fields for youth sports and open space where the broader community can gather and recreate. Visitors can enjoy a post and beam pavilion, as well as a 0.5 mile recreational trail loop and 5 memorial benches established by the Mad River Path Association.
